Ecology North hosted the fifth Young Leaders' Summit on Climate Change in Yukon Territory in the summer of 2017. 11 participants and 5 facilitators from across the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut met in Whitehorse on August 16th, 2017, and spent a week driving between Whitehorse and Kluane Lake to learn about climate change from various sources and experience the beautiful landscapes of the Yukon.

Throughout the summit, the participants wrote daily blogs to document their experiences. To learn about what the 2017 participants did, you can read their blogs here.

The participants finished the trip by making a declaration for climate change action, based on what they learned throughout the trip. You can read their declaration here.

In the News: Read an articles about the 2017 Summit in the Whitehorse Star here, and listen to the 2017 participants on CBC Radio here.

Thank you to all of the participants, presenters, guests, volunteers and sponsors who helped make the summit a great success.
