Summit Participants and facilitators
The 2021 Young Leaders' Summit on Northern Climate Change was hosted at B Dene Adventures, located on Akaitcho Bay, just outside of Dettah, Northwest Territories, for 5 days and 4 nights. The youth participants slept in cabins, shared late night stories over the fire, and feasted over local delicacies prepared by Elder facilitators. Our daily schedule was filled with presentations from inspiring and influential leaders, experts, decision-makers, academics, Elders, and the youth themselves.
Some of the highlights from our busy schedule were the mock Arctic Council negotiations, youth-led presentations, on-the-land activities, and facilitated conversations regarding climate change’s impact beyond climate. Click the video below to hear about the Summit from the youth themselves.
